Axel's Knife Sharpening

Why us?

Here at AKS the quality of my work is of utmost importance. When you give me a knife, I assses for chips in the knife blade, apex damage, sharpness and scratch pattern before and after sharpening your knife. After sharpening your knife, I will give you our report of the tests we did before for assurance that your knife is sharp upon request. Another reason to have me sharpen your knife is, we have fair pricing. If you go to ACE Hardware to sharpen an 8 inch chefs knife, it is 7$, while at AKS it is 6$ and it will be sharper than what the machine could do. The last reason is, I make sure that your nice knives don't get ruined, when you use a pull through sharpener, it ruins the edge of the knife. And with me, I use the latest sharpening techlogy including the latest diamond stones and strops ensuring your knife is not ruined and razor sharp! But, don't just take my word for it, at the bottom of the page we have testimonials from people who I've sharpened knives for.

Our Pricing

for a knife under 4 inches, it's 1$/Inch, if your knife is over 4 inches it is 75c/Inch. If your knife is over 10 inches, you will need a custom quote because the bigger knives are harder to sharpen.

If you send 2 or more knives you get 10% off! (Limited Time Offer)

Knife Sharpening FAQ

Does it really matter if I have a sharp knife?

Yes, because dull knives make it more difficult to cut and they can slip much easier injuring the user.

Can't I just use a Pull-Through/Electric Sharpener?

No, when you use that type of sharpener it damages the knife. Why? Well, when you put it in that type
of sharpener two things happen. First, it creates a nasty burr on your knife edge hindering your ability to cut. Second, when you pull
it through, it leaves a scratch pattern that is horizontal, the problem with that is your knife apex will break because if pressure is
applied it will break along the score. With the sharpening tecnique I use, it leaves a diagonal scratch pattern. That means that the a
-pex of your blade will be more durable.

What types of blades do you sharpen?

I sharpen most Kitchen knives, Lawnmower Blades and most pocket knives and scissors. We do NOT sharpen: Serrated, curved knives or katanas.

What forms of Payment do you take?

I take Cash or Checks, we don't have Venmo at the moment.
